MOVEMENT GUARANTEES GOOD GOVERNANCE

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s action to empower youth, women, fight against terrorism, surgical and strike on corruption has substantiated the fact that security and defence will get a major boost with the government initiatives.
The latest in the series is “Sankalp se Siddhi” (Attainment through Resolve) scheme, which aims at good governance, is a five year plan under which new India movement 2017-2022 would take place.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, about Rs. 57,000 crore have been saved from ongoing schemes by adopting good governance and technology.
Under the mentorship of PM Modi, the government has launched flagship schemes such as Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Jan Suraksha Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, Food security for poor, Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana, Mission Indradhanush, Swachh Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Start UP India, Stand UP India, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Make in India and Housing for poor etc.
The Union Government in tandem with the State Government, has adopted a multi-pronged approach to contain cross border infiltration, which inter-alia, includes strengthening of border management, multi-tiered and multi modal deployment along the International Border/Line of Control and near the ever changing infiltration routes, construction of border fencing, improved technological surveillance, weapons and equipments for Security Forces, improved intelligence and operational coordination, synergized intelligence flow to check infiltration and pro-active action against terrorists within the State. The Government has adopted various counter terrorism strategies to neutralize the efforts and capabilities of militants in disturbing peace in the State. It has also encouraged policies to mainstream the youth and discourage the local youth from joining militancy.
The security situation in the North Eastern States, which has remained complex for quite some time because of diverse demands of ethnic groups and various militant outfits, has been gradually improving in terms of reduction in violent incidents, lower civilian casualties and increasing number of arrests and surrender of militants etc. Violent incidents have come down from 1489 in 2007 to 824 in 2014 and the number of civilians who lost their lives has come down from 498 to 212 during the same period.
