Prominently, the site comprises an all-inclusive Pledge, New India Manthan, Citizen Causes, an Online Quiz on the Quit India Movement and a wide-ranging calendar of numerous events being organized as constituents of the ‘achievement through resolve’ movement. This website specifically sprawls through the period beginning 2017 till 2022, for the overall development of the country making stakeholders and beneficiaries as comrades in the progress.
To com1memorate 75 years of the Quit India Movement the Narendra Modi government led the nation to a pledge to create a New India that is strong, prosperous and all-encompassing; an India that will make our freedom fighters proud.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said “Quit India was a landmark movement in our history. Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s clarion call of ‘Do or Die’ people across India actively pledged to devote themselves for India’s freedom.
The Pledge is to build a New India by 2022; an India that is devoid of corruption, is clean, has no poverty, is free of terrorism, has no distinction on the basis of caste and religion.
To take forward the movement, “Sankalp Se Siddhi” program were being organized across the country to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Quit India Movement. Till 20 August 2017, 18 states including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Andman & Nicobar, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Chhatishgarh, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Maharashtra and Gujarat have organized the program at 32 locations.

The farmers were also being shown various activities in the KVKs and institutes to acquaint them with the latest technologies. A film on patriotism was also being screened on this occasion to motivate the participants.
A large number of farmers, extension workers, social activists and various organizations have participated in these programs. The programs are being covered widely by Doordarshan and other channels are also playing a key role in taking the message across the country. The participants have been very enthusiastic and are taking the pledge in letter and spirit to take the country forward.
With the help of The New India Manthan, citizens can comment and commend (pour in their views and suggestions) on ways to achieve the prime pledges.
My Causes offers an opportunity to the users to put their thinking caps on and come up with their own creative causes and at the same time, vote for the already existent citizen causes.
Prime Minister has assured that his government will work for everyone regardless of who they voted for in the five-state assembly polls.
The election results are a foundation for a “New India”, he said and exhorted people to take a pledge to build it by 2022 — three years beyond the NDA government’s current tenure. He asked people to take a pledge every year over the next five years and toil to fulfil them.
The Prime Minister explained his idea of a New India and Indians, saying it should be a country that offers opportunities to the poor.“A new India where the poor do not want anything by way of charity, but seek opportunity to chart out their own course … Indians today are not waiting for governmental sops. They only want opportunities to be created for them, so that they can work for their livelihood and prosperity.”
The middle class was the most vocal in its support to Modi in the run-up to the 2014 parliamentary elections. The government has made a concerted attempt to put on a pro-poor, pro-farmer image, as opposition parties project the BJP-led NDA as pro-capitalist.
“The strength of the poor and aspirations of the middle class can take India to new heights,” he said. The Prime Minister has a message for the Opposition too. He said a majority can form a government, but it can run only through consensus.
The remarks were significant since several reform measures are stuck in the Rajya Sabha because of an absence of consensus between opposition parties and the government. The NDA does not have the requisite numbers to push through bills in Parliament’s Upper House.
Modi wants to give these delayed bills a fresh push after the emphatic election victory.
